DESCRIPTION:
WW - Tudor Prince Oyster Date, ref 7966, circa 1964, 34mm x 41mm to lug tips, 19mm lug width, original 18K yellow gold screw back Oyster case with fluted gold bezel, black leather strap, original champagne dial with applied gold arrow indices, 25J, s# has been polished over the years and is not completely legible however it appears to likely be s#435686 with the second digit the only one not immediately recognizable, triple signed. Gross weight of assembled watch without strap 25.1 dwt (39.0 g). It is very unusual to see a solid gold Tudor as Rolex had always intended Tudor to be at a reduced price point relative to Rolex.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, no oxide; excellent-plus dial with very light surface spotting; excellent gold hands; polished case shows light wear, still retains some of its original factory finishing, worn serial number as well as completely polished reference number, this appears to be from strap rub, light dings on the case sides and lug tops; original signed crown shows very little wear, good threads; good crystal; resealed for auction.
